We bought this to replace our ailing vintage blender. :-( Even though it looks the same overall, it has nothing to do with the classic feel of the old one, as you can't even tell if it's metal or plastic. Still, it fits in well and has enough power BUT, it's outrageously loud, way louder than our old mixer, it literally hurts when it's in a room while mixing, to the point where it really should come with earbuds, and I'm not exaggerating sound pressure level meters, and it measured over 104 decibels (see photo) which is equivalent to running a chainsaw or standing next to a passing subway train I don't understand why it has to be so loud Cons Woman gets up earlier and makes smoothies Can't wake up (unlike the old one ) and very uncomfortable to be around when he is working.
