Review on 🚫 Bosal 099-3781 Catalytic Converter Review: Non-CARB Compliant Performance Analysis by Jonathan Olson

Non-OEM Quality Emissions

This review is based on a 1995 Nissan Sentra setup that Revain claims will fit. Although I was able to install this, there are some differences that are different and inferior to the OEM versions. 1. The heat shield is nothing more than a piece of sheet metal welded to the block. The OEM heat shield covers a much larger area and has a much fuller clearance to the unit including O2 sensor protection. This unit has a hole for the O2 sensor so the sensor mounts straight down instead of on the side like the OEM. This will destroy the O2 sensor when you press the center. Because the O2 sensor hole is in a different location, the OEM sensor cable is not long enough. This is normal as the O2 sensor hole on this unit is designed to fit a larger O2 sensor than the OEM unit, so you will need to replace the O2 sensor with a regular sensor designed for a larger hole or an adapter have to buy. Holes for standard bolts are threaded on one side and bolted on the other side, simplifying installation. To do this you had to buy all new bolts with nuts to make it work as the 4 bolt holes are just big holes but the bolts go through them. If I had known what I was getting, I would have chosen something else. It's installed and working and I don't have the patience to uninstall and reset it. If you're thinking of buying this, do your homework and look elsewhere.
