I bought this for traveling but it replaces my kettle on the stove every day. We drink obscene amounts of tea and there's always a kettle on the stove ready to boil water, but the convenience, simplicity, and features of this kettle won our fondness. I love how I can turn on both functions at the same time - heat to a boil and stay warm. It heats up until it boils and then the auto shut off stops cooking but the heat stays on until I get around to it. Keep warm doesn't turn off automatically, so if I'm doing something in another room I can fall back on hot water. There's glass in there, and I like to see at a glance how much water is in there. I didn't experience any flavor issues and the sound of it coming to a boil as it heats up was a new sound I noticed at first, but I've gotten used to it and don't notice it anymore. It can also be kept cooked and filled to the maximum fill mark. I always wait for it to stop boiling so I can pick it up and pour it - and it pours really well. Make sure the lid is closed securely to avoid steam or water escaping at the top of the handle. We both love it!
