I usually left the sliding screen door open to let the puppies out, but spring came and brought flying pests trying to get in. This pet screen door was a find of gold! You have to crop the screen but it's worth it. The instructions are a bit complicated for what is actually a simple installation. There are two parts - a pet mesh door and a back panel for the other side of the mesh. When these two sides are joined together, it provides support for the structure. I bought an exacto blade, glued this pet door (flap side) to the screen and used the blade to cut through the mesh right into the grooves where the pet door snaps to the back panel. Voila! The harder part might be helping your pet figure out how to use the door, but there are great guides out there on the internet. We simply tied the hatch shut until our pet was comfortable with the door, then taught him to walk through and get his back hit by the door.
