We bought this for our 4 and 6 year olds. Just the right size for 2 children of this age. Smaller kids maybe 2 years old or those with a cold are probably good for 3 or 4 kids at a time. If you have older/bigger kids they can jump in but there is a risk of it tipping over so just make sure it's secure. all. It works inside, but be careful not to tip it over. The included fan works great. Just to say if you are short on space remember the dimensions of the beach ball are accurate you will need to factor in the blowpipe. It adds about 5 feet to the depth and you can't bend the blowgun, it has to be straight.
