Heats up as expected as stated by the seller. The light on the Magsafe tip doesn't come on, but I doubt they have a choice on the matter. It doesn't get hot enough to burn things, but it can be uncomfortable to touch. My problem is that it is not reliable. Twice my Mac shut down unexpectedly because the battery ran out of charge and Catalina didn't give a low battery warning. Both cases were probably common for high-end hardware. This may be fine for a lower power requirement, but in the past the headroom has been adequate.
