So far so good! in wheels

I would give 5 stars but am planning to upgrade to see if the product lasts long or I need service under warranty due to the nature of the product. Let's be clear, although the wheels look really good, these aren't branded hubs and wheels to show off to all your friends. This is very noticeable with the hubs, which at first glance seem to be very cheap hubs when unpacked. The hubs are clearly not the high quality, high performance hubs that you may have paid a high price for in the past. I was prepared for this by reading reviews, including other bikes (not this one) where reviewers have reported hub failure after a certain number of miles. But so far so good after the first 33 miles. I confess that I treated her with care on the first trip. I'll keep an eye out for it and report back on future trips. But right now I wish they could charge maybe $100 more and ship Shimono or Campy hubs with the nice rims and spokes they offer. One more thing, other reviews refer to the exact spacer needed for a Shimono 9 speed cassette. Update 2 weeks later: Wheels still work after 350 miles. The road to them is tough, including sprints and intervals, yet true. The only thing that bothers me is the weird noise of the hub bearings under load. Although they appear to still be intact, I'm wondering what's going on with the bearings or am I just sensitive to noise. Maybe I'll open up the hubs in the next few days to see if there's any wear. Again I want the jacks to be a trusted brand and not standard jacks. Update over 1500 miles: Still running even after a few high voltage rides. I'm still afraid to take the hubs apart to inspect the bearings, but despite my misgivings, the hubs still roll freely. Upgrade to 5 stars based on 1500 miles of hard driving. Let's see if that stays that way in a few months or a year. UPDATE: Based on countless more miles and great performance, I've just ordered a second pair for my spare wheel. Yes, that's how much I love these wheels. I would like this company to think about making a carbon frame too. For my first pair I would suggest checking the tension every 2500-3000 miles. I prefer to keep the tension, at least as an OEM, to avoid wheel noise and prevent them from bending. I also recommend lubricating the right rear spoke cross from time to time as you would any wheelset. Also, I had to retorque the rear axle after 2500 miles when I noticed a lot of play in the wheel causing friction on the brake pads. This was easy with an allen wrench, but unusual as I'm used to tightening axles with a wrench, but these hubs don't have a nut to tighten, just a socket head cap screw at each end of the axle. Now I check my axel game about once a week. I repeat what others have said that there are lighter wheels. But here's my advice: if you're a serious rider who wants lighter wheels that cost four to five times the price, show sponsors that you can win races on the cheapest wheels and ask them to Sponsor your next wheelset. for 3000 dollars. to save a few grams. Almost 8000 miles Update: Can't say enough good things about these wheels for the price. Yes, if you're looking for pro-level wheels to save a few ounces over those wheels that some consider too heavy for carbon wheels, you're going to have to shell out the usual $2000-$5000 if you're looking for them. Yes, you have to be careful in the wind, as with all deep dish wheels, regardless of the price. I, for one, would never recommend a non-sponsored amateur rider who spends their own paycheck to spend $2000-$5000 on wheels, but if you want slightly better performance than these wheels, be my guest. But for the price of these wheels, tanks are still in general! They hold up really well and even with one of my two sets that I bought I crashed hard enough to crack the frame of my bike and after a little adjustment these wheels continued to work with my replaced frame with no issues. I can't say enough good things for the price.
