Repeating what others have said wastes a lot of tape!

Works well except for one fairly significant/annoying issue. As many have noted, ribbon is expensive and too much blank ribbon is used before each new label. This is due to the position of the tailor. The only "workaround" is to print a series of labels each time you create a new print. Ribbon is still wasted, but the more labels you print in one run (with the continuous setting enabled), the less you waste.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Crumpled

I have used both Letratag from dymo and P-touch from.

I used Dymo's Letratag and Brother's P-touch. Letratag is more economical because the label tape is cheaper and when printing, the gap at each end is much shorter than Brother, which should save you more ribbon. I find the Letratag font to be more solid (personal preference). If you're picky about clarity, go with your brother. Brother clear tape is shinier and more translucent, while Letratag clear tape is slightly translucent. It has a white tone and the texture is rather matte.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unreliable

. but this one does the job and is easy to use

I'm not a label expert but this one does the job and is easy to use. The rim is annoying, but if you're using cheaper tape it doesn't matter much. It's also stupid that the cable costs more than the labeller and is available separately. So far I only use batteries and don't use the labeler all the time so I haven't had to change them yet and I've had the labeler for about 2-3 months now and have labeled all my baby toys. , our kitchen including fridge (I went a little crazy with our third…

Up and running in minutes

I saved $11 on this purchase by purchasing a refurbished unit. Having never had a label maker go bankrupt (eight in almost 30 years) I figured we just wanted to make a profit. I was right that the box was torn and everything else looked fine. This is my fifth Brother printer (four were P-touch) and one of the cheapest. I looked through my old reviews and found that I paid a whopping $140 for the Brother PT2730 and spent a few hours learning how to use it. With this device you can print labels…

Brother P-touch handheld printer

I bought this to replace another Brother P-touch handheld printer that I have had for many years. It arrived today and I am very happy with it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles you might find from another label maker and some people might be disappointed that it only offers 3 fonts, but the choice it offers - and there are many - is all I need . I particularly like the fact that I can adjust the margins, which my last one didn't have, and I've always felt that large margins are a…

Scissors should always be with you!

Before I bought a labeller I read that many people complained about wasted tape and I didn't think it would be a problem for me. I don't use a label printer very often, so I was fine with the machine having to leave extra tape on the side. BUT, what I didn't expect was that there was no way to cut off that extra tape with the label maker! Thus, virtually every printed label must leave 1 inch of tape on the left side. No matter how short your word is or what size font you use, the label maker…

Very easy to use - wish it had more fonts

So this thing is very easy to use. I bought it because of the QWERTY keyboard instead of other cheap label printers. Many others in this price range have an ABC style model. I thought typing would take longer than I'm used to. The build quality is good. It doesn't feel like it's going to break or anything. If you buy Brother branded tape it's quite expensive but there are all sorts of aftermarket suppliers offering refills for a lot less so that's a plus. I have a few problems, but none of them

Pros
  • understandable even for old people
Cons
  • Some bugs

. Dymo LM160 If you are going to buy a cheap label printer

Comparison Brother PTH110 vs Dymo LM160 If you are going to buy a good label printer, you might find it difficult to decide between these two models. (as I was). I recently bought this model and also had the opportunity to try the Dymo and I think it's the best. I ran some tests to determine print quality and durability, which you can see in the photos. The white label is Brother and the clear label is Dymo (I didn't have access to Dymo's white labels). The baseline print quality for a standard

  • Nice looks
