Very simple thread design. They serve their purpose and come in the right size. They bend well and hold up well. I'd like to see some sort of locking system in there to hold the ends together. You have to make sure you turn in the right direction, otherwise you risk loosening one of the connections and losing the rods inside the chimney. In addition, it is safer to rotate them individually on the go than to rotate a bunch just before starting work. Once I screwed them all together and then started to work but during that process some of the previously screwed elements came loose and I had a little problem when the last 2 sections fell off and I had to hook them up and fish them out. A professional knows all this, of course, and doesn't do stupid things like me. However, a small fixation collar can be a good solution. I would be willing to pay more for a model with locking rings or some sort of attachment system.
