The buckle is slightly narrower than 35mm of the belt, about 1-2mm, so the belt doesn't fit perfectly. The hooks are angled to allow the tongue to pull up, not sit flush, and make it easier to pull out on your own. The bar that holds the hooks is a one piece piece, not spring loaded or screwed in, so it won't fit every strap without extra work. These shortcomings aside, this is an inexpensive buckle that can extend the life of the belt.
