I had the same model and humidifier for 15 years until it died. I replaced it with this new one and it works the same: great. I've seen other reviewers say their watch died after a month and that's because they didn't clean it! If they opened it up and used some hot vinegar on the hot plate to remove the mineral/calcium build up (from the tap water) it would work again and work fine but they didn't read the instructions and gave it a star. something that works as it should because they cannot be disturbed. ALL humidifiers must be cleaned for proper operation.
