I love the feel of the stainless steel ruler. It's accurate and does its job well. No signs of marks coming off anytime soon, and the marks look like they've been lightly etched - good to put a tip on a pair of dividers. The zero is at the very end and doesn't have the annoyingly large roundness at the corners that gets in the way of straight lines and measurements. I never realized how much I would love to be only metric on one side and imperial on the other - having an inch line means you can easily orient an existing line for a 90 degree angle (assuming , you don't need extreme precision ).
