I wanted a shorter antenna for my 2013 Miata. I found this one and thought I'd give it a try. I bought the plastic version, not the metal version. The antenna arrived in good condition and I wanted to install it on my car. However, I ran into a problem here. The antenna mount on the car was female. This means that the antenna must have a screw at the bottom so that it can be screwed into the antenna mount on the car. But the antenna ALSO had a female screw mount. There was no screw sticking out at the bottom of the antenna, which made it possible to screw it into the car! I checked the box, there is no screw. In the photos in the Revain listing, this antenna is clearly visible as a screw sticking out from below! To make it work I had to go to the hardware store and buy a 5mm screw. I then had to cut the screw head off the screw to make a double male screw. I stuck one end into the antenna and then screwed the antenna onto the car mount. Once installed, the antenna looked and worked well. But I had to deduct two stars as there was no screw in the kit (as shown on Revain promotional photos). -Steve
