I use this unit with a Nikon F2 film camera with a 105mm macro lens. The tilt works well, the lock knobs are a bit small, but it doesn't really bother locking the tilt. So, as I said, I use this device with an old film camera and when combined with a lens it weighs decently and I haven't noticed any slipping or wobbling. The only real issue I had was the screw that attaches to the bottom of the camera. It has a very small flip-up handle that's too small to grab (in my case) with your thumb and forefinger. It's okay, I used some small pliers, but a small rod about 1/8" in diameter works and I put that in my camera bag. Why not finger tighten then rotate the camera onto the mounting base, the base is not that soft and could damage the camera. For the money this little device still works well.
