Yes, mounting kit must be purchased separately. But look on the bright side, if you do fall and you do it will be cheaper to just replace the guard or strut rather than both. However, $65 is a fair price for both. They look killer and they will survive a crash. Believe me. LOL With all the colors to match any bike, they're a great accessory.
