This is the only stool I have ever bought so I cannot compare it to any other. The quality of the stool itself is solid and sturdy. I've had him for almost a year now. All you have to do is attach the rolls when the shipment arrives. The only thing I really hate about this stool is the cushion. It's terrible. They sink right into the wooden base making the pillow utterly useless. I weigh 175 pounds. I survived but just ordered some quality foam to put on this stool when it arrives. There are cheaper stools out there, but I'm not sure what you'll get. I would like to offer you a comparison.
