Review on Unleash Your Gaming Potential with RIG 800HS: The Ultimate Wireless Headset for Playstation by Brook Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A phenomenal headset that far exceeded my expectations

This headset has everything I could ask for in a gaming headset. I've been playing online games since 2006 when PS3 came out and now I'm continuing to do so on PS4. I've tried different brands of headsets and almost all of them had a major flaw. I spent weeks contemplating which $150 headset to buy and looking for patterns in product reviews. Each product will have a few negative reviews that have a similar issue, which may be due to a bad batch, but you really learn the truth when the average reviews also start to back up the bad reviews. All other headsets had design flaws, sporadic sound quality, were uncomfortable, or had mediocre microphones. I chose this headset because, despite the lack of frills, it's a solid brand that's been making headsets for decades. It's even the same brand used in my wife's office. I figured it would be comfortable, which it certainly is, while also feeling light. At the same time, the elastic strap ensures a snug fit regardless of your head size, so your headset won't come off if you lift something or turn your head quickly. Based on the company's history in the business I was expecting a quality microphone and was not disappointed. As a bonus, you only have to flip up the mic to mute it, which is a lot more convenient than searching for a button. Finally, I expected a pair of solid speakers to give me the sheer audio clarity I was expecting to earn a B+ rating, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality this headset delivered, and in reality it received a Solid A+ rating for the sound beyond that. For what I've come to expect from this brand, it offers the best sound I've ever heard from a headset. The first game I played was 7 Days to Die and I immediately noticed ambient sounds that I didn't even know existed. Several minutes passed before I came across a group of zombies to open fire on. When I did this I was blown away by the level of bass and clarity of the sound. The sound integrity was then not affected for several minutes of automatic firing, and the quality of the sound made me feel like I was on a shooting range firing guns in real life. The icing on the cake is that the battery life on this headset is ridiculously long and it took a few seconds to set it up. It's far better than I ever expected from a wireless headset and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone currently looking in this price range.
