My problem solved! the best spare parts and accessories

This replacement solenoid for my Honeywell TrueSteam humidifier worked like clockwork. I recently had a problem with overflowing water in my humidifier. The troubleshooting section of the guide describes how to fix the six flashing red lights on the front, including replacing the water sensor. I did that but it didn't solve the problem so I went back online and continued researching. Others have reported having to replace the solenoid valve. (I'm guessing one of the valves got calcified because I wasn't very good at changing the water filter.) I called my local HVAC dealer and they were $300-$400, but the part itself is only about $60. So I decided to try and replace it myself. It was a little tricky because I couldn't find any instructions, but it's not too hard. You just have to pay attention to what's connected to what when you take it apart. Anyway, replacing the solenoid took almost an hour without instructions - I tried not to break anything and it took me a while to clean the water tank again. When I put it back together, it took a while for the system to recognize that the humidifier was plugged back in, and then it had to fill the tank and start heating the water. About an hour later I checked and found that everything was working fine again. (Pooh!)

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Vulgarity
