This thing broke right out of the box. The gray things at the ends are not screwed tight at all. The hourglass itself fell straight out of the cylinder and broke into small pieces. I spent about 45 minutes cleaning it. This is very thin glass, so it leaves tiny shards. I dropped it on the wooden floor so a vacuum cleaner couldn't remove all the fragments. I had to go over it with wet paper towels, then dry paper towels, and I had to repeat this 3 times before I was sure I had the whole jar. I'm still not sure I won't step on a tiny piece that will dig into my bare feet. Don't waste money.
