Bad design, but unfortunately GP-1 must be used.

Summary: The GP-1 is a great device for geotagging photos. Unfortunately, the GP-1 CA10 cable is the weak link in what could have been a great product. I have had 2 GP-1 units for many years and use them when shooting with two cameras. I used to have 2 Wolverine GPS devices but both just stopped working after 12-18 months so I had some experience with different GPS camera devices. Problem: The weakest point in the cable is the end that connects to the GP-1 device. . I've gone through 3 of these cables over the years and they've all broken in the same place. This is a design flaw. If Nikon really cared about this problem, the solution would be simple: make a strong swivel for that end of the cable, or make the cable's stiff material both stronger and more flexible. them money. Every time a cable breaks, you have to buy a new cable. Recommendations: Until Nikon decides to fix the cable issue, the best way to save money is to not buy replacement cables at all. Here are some things you can do to extend the life of your cable. 1) I've learned the hard way that when you put your camera in a bag, don't leave the GP-1 CA10 cable attached to the GP-1 or the camera body. . Disconnect the cable completely and store it in a separate pocket. Even in a well-protected bag, once attached, the cable will be squeezed and bent, eventually leading to wear and tear. -1 CL1 camera strap clip. This will prevent your GP-1 from hanging on the fragile cable while recording.
