Camera connector bends down

This replacement cable is inferior in design to the original. The original GP-1 cable has a kink at the camera connector so that it slopes upwards, making it easy to mount the camera on a tripod with the L-bracket in a vertical position. I'm not talking about the rectangular part of the connection. This is the part that leads to the right angle joint, see photo. This cable is bent in the opposite direction so it faces down and gets in the way when trying to use the L-Bracket. The originalโ€ฆ

Please do that thing again!

This is a money hole. The cable works perfectly, but if one of the newcomers developed this cable, we would all be better off. As other reviewers have said. If the cable was at least oriented like this item Wireless Remote Shutter Release RFN-4s for Nikon DSLR with MC30 type connection (Nikon D200, D300, D300s, D500, D700, D800, D800E, D810, D1, D2, D3, D3x, D3s, D4, D5) - Transmitter and Receiver Set Where the cable hugs the camera and enters the connector then great. Bad design, but unfortunately GP-1 must be used.

Summary: The GP-1 is a great device for geotagging photos. Unfortunately, the GP-1 CA10 cable is the weak link in what could have been a great product. I have had 2 GP-1 units for many years and use them when shooting with two cameras. I used to have 2 Wolverine GPS devices but both just stopped working after 12-18 months so I had some experience with different GPS camera devices. Problem: The weakest point in the cable is the end that connects to the GP-1 device. . I've gone through 3 of these
