I would buy it again - Electric Fondue Pots

When I see a new kitchen electronics product I get intrigued, but I usually wait a while before buying it. I took a chance with this electric fondue and raclette combo because this is my first time in a year bringing my daughter and her family for an indoor dinner and I wanted it to be special. I have an antique fondue pot which is cute but I have to use fuel gel to keep the cheese warm after heating it on the stove. With this very cool device we can prepare almost any food in the center of the table. Fondue or broth in the middle, grilled vegetables and fish or shrimp and cheese in raclette pans on the level below the top heating element. It's very good and I only have a few criticisms about the quality of the product. There are many warnings about preheating both elements to burn off production oils, which is why I did it. I actually did it twice just to be sure and the first time there was almost no smell and just a bit of smoke. I wasn't scared at all because I expected more. I wish it had a power button other than the two dials on the front as it's basically always on when plugged in. I would like to be able to turn it off without getting up from the table. I finally figured out that if I use an extension cord with a switch, I can extend the machine's power cord and flick the switch to turn it off. It takes a few minutes for both heating elements to reach the optimal temperature, so now I know I have to prepare them in time. The lower tier doesn't cook as much as it does warming and frying on the element above. It is important to either keep the stone in the center or use a fondue pot to keep it warm and work better. My second gripe is that the splash guard, which also keeps the fondue sticks in place, wobbles when you move it because it's right inside the bowl. My third and final criticism is that some raclette pans had slight imperfections in the non-stick coating. Nothing that would interfere with the work, I just wanted them to be smooth with no roughness. When you have finished using the pots, be sure to let them cool before placing them in the water, otherwise they may warp as the metal is not thick. The first thing I tried to cook in it was just scrambled eggs as batter, and on the grill they fried evenly. It took its time below and cooked from above, just the way it's supposed to be. Then I made a small batch of fondue and it was great. For a full dinner we have broth in a fondue pot to cook shrimp, vegetables and grilled fish fillets, gourmet Swiss cheese in raclette pans that we pour over freshly cooked finger potatoes that I will cook on the stove. We're going to have pickles and mustard sauce because I personally love both. Bottom line, it's a unique kitchen appliance that we can do without, just like bread makers, ice cream makers, tabletop sandwich makers, and many others. But for a dinner party I love it and would buy it again. I thought for a long time whether to give it four or five stars and decided on five because at the moment I have not seen such a configuration. I like it better than the rectangular kitchen appliances and am so happy I don't smell burning gel at the table.
