Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Enhance Your French Press Experience with the Chef'n Switchit Stirrer and Timer (Anthracite) - 110-981-001 by Kristy Campos

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Big and clunky single function device, but useful nonetheless!

Cons: It's large, chunky, and displaces a lot of water, which is a problem with disposable pots. It doesn't have a scoop, so you're basically just sliding the base around the bottom of the carafe instead of pulling it out. Notes refer to a 1-minute unrest warning tone, which does not exist. The beep is a typical hard electronic signal. Otherwise, it's a great tool to add to your coffee ritual. The 4 minute timer is ideal, as is the one button interface. The beep is harsh but very well muffled. The display is bright and easy to read, although I wish it was less than a minute. It's easy to clean and easily peels off for a deeper clean, which is a good thing since coffee oils like to stick to it and leave a chic brown ash on it. good balance. UPDATE July 2020: You've probably noticed that other reviews mention that the device fails for weeks or months. Mine failed too. The first symptom was that it didn't beep at the end of the cycle, just "ticked". I put a new battery in and it lasted a few more weeks and then died again. Turns out the device doesn't break by itself, but it is VERY sensitive to low battery and will fail as soon as the CR2016 battery drops even slightly below 3V. Unfortunately, cheap fake batteries are cheap and attractive, and the battery I replaced was already dead. I put in a third battery but it is from the same batch and I expect it will fail within a few weeks. In the meantime I have purchased new RevainBasics batteries and will let you know if I have any further doubts. In the meantime, it would be a good idea to have some CR2016 cells on hand as well.
