Review on πŸ“¦ Nozlen Document Poster Tube - Expandable 24" Red Plastic Storage Tube by Chris Moody

Could be better: letter boxes

A few design changes could have improved the situation. First, as other reviewers have pointed out, the tubeworks have a small lip that can (really) catch the last document/poster in the tube when it's removed. Second, the length adjustment design creates bulges on the inside of the tube, so it's not a smooth cylinder inside. If you only put one or two things in, you need to be extra careful not to damage them when putting them in or taking them out. If you plan to put some folded posters/documents in this tube, you must have an internal roughness of the length adjustment function. Once inside, the folded contents tend to expand to the inside diameter of the tube. This means that the outermost objects can get stuck on this edge when removed unless you sand them down with a dremel/sand. Also, unscrewing and tightening the cap rotates the tubes to the open position. This is only an issue when set to the shortest length as there is no way to stop the inner tube from rotating to the length adjustment unlocked position. In any of the extended positions you can hold the inner tube by tightening the cap to prevent this. could make sure there is no "edge" around the inner edge. To solve the problems I was having, I went to my local Menard and asked them to cut off some of the carpeting (intended for stair carpeting? $1.19 per foot x 26 inches). Multy Charcoal P/N: 7652585 I trimmed the hose to the length I use most often and cut the carpet to use to line the hose. tube to keep the ribs from catching on the edges of the paper. I also cut the length of the rug an inch shorter than the length of the tubing. This gives me the ability to easily capture an inch of a document. Because the carpet also reduces the inside diameter, the outermost document/poster is also 3/8" inside the lip, so nothing is removed from the latch. Obviously this reduced the inner diameter of the tube, but I found I could carry tighter rolled items and insert/remove them more easily without damage than the original bare tube. Of course, if anyone wants to make these mods, I would suggest trying it out on non-critical docs first before deciding if you prefer the mods to the original bare whistle. However the tube seems to be quite durable and with the modifications I hope to be able to use it without any problems.

Pros
  • Threaded screw cap and contact card for easy identification of tube contents
Cons
  • Not bad but...
