I bought these for my son's nursery as a night light and general lighting to see when he wakes up at night to eat. We take great care to keep blue light out of his room, so this is a great alternative to bright LED night lights. The dial allows us to turn it on so we have more than enough light to change diapers and then dim it very low so it doesn't disturb his sleep. We originally had another salt lamp that we got that we used for a year and this one is much better. The wood base is solid and looks nice, and the salt and cut of the piece is fine and larger than I expected. We use it all night and don't worry about the cord shorting out as it doesn't get hot or the light flickers. All in all it was a fantastic choice for a salt lamp and I will definitely be buying another one in the future!
