These boots are great. They are light, comfortable and I walk them every day on rough, slippery terrain (3-7 miles). I have a high arch and a slightly wide foot. The arch is in the right place and I like everything about them. They stabilize your ankle so that ankle rollover is impossible. I wear a slightly thicker sock because it's winter here, but in the summer I plan to wear them with a lighter sock. Also, they are easy to tie and quick to put on. I ordered a 7.5 wide and normally I have to wear an 8 regular but as it was available in a wide size I went down a half size which was perfect. I first tried another pair from Merrill but the arch was closer to the heel which was uncomfortable so I returned them. These boots are great, you won't be disappointed.
