I take the 7-1/2 wide and am having trouble finding boots that fit me. I was glad they come in large sizes and that the 7 1/2 I ordered fit perfectly. Plenty of room in the toe box and with a snug fit around the ankles the boots are very comfortable and comfortable. Good treads too, although I also wear spikes when trekking in the icy forest. This is my second pair of Salomon boots and I have to say I'm quite disappointed. They were uncomfortable for the first month, but now in six months they're falling apart. My first pair lasted almost a year. Also, Salomon only gives a guarantee if you can find a physical store that sells them at least two hours from my small town. Will definitely look for a different brand next time!

I'm on my feet 12-14 hours a day - literally. Dairy farm 50 hectares. At the end of the day, I can barely walk UNTIL I listen to an audio book by Jack Carr (a former SWAT guy) and he mentions the Salomon boots he wore on tour (in fact, his protagonist mentioned them twice). So I thought if they can take on Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, they can work for me. They did and still do. happy feet! Tried others but these are THE BEST!

We ordered size 5 for my wife as she is a petite woman but when she received it they sent us size 6.5 which is size 5 in the UK . The boots are very good looking, durable yet lightweight and well made. Hope we can buy real US size 5 instead of UK size 5. One star until we can wear them. Update sizing charts for US options. The product is excellent.

I'm so glad I found it! I have high insteps, wide (but not very soft) feet and bursitis. I needed a real hiking shoe with a good profile that I could wear flip flops in that also had good ankle support and didn't rub against the creases of the shoe when walking. These boots are great. They are light, comfortable and I walk them every day on rough, slippery terrain (3-7 miles). I have a high arch and a slightly wide foot. The arch is in the right place and I like everything about them. They stabilize your ankle so that ankle rollover is impossible. I bought these boots for our trip to Acadia National Forest Bar Harbor, Maine. We hiked and walked a lot daily and felt great in these boots. As others have said, a break is not necessary. At 11 feet it's incredibly difficult to find shoes let alone the right shoes. But finding hiking boots was particularly difficult as you have to get bigger and hardly any hiking boot brands offer a size 11.5 or 12.
