4 GB SDRAM 12800 DDR3 works for me
The box works without changing anything in the bios. made an aging laptop a little faster. fully compatible with HP Elite 8740W. I think it's almost identical brand/speed etc with stock RAM already installed, so there's no RAM mismatch stress slowing it down.
