Turns out they really were designed to connect directly to the Axxess SWC1 controller. I don't need it, but another plug is valuable. I bought one of these for an atoto setup I just made. I have a Rav4 09. This Toyota has a third connector that holds all the wires from the steering wheel and aux and junk. My key had pins 6,7,8 if it's the 3rd connector. This strap gave me easy access to them without interfering with the factory side of the fork. See Metra green-yellow for pin 7, green-black for pin 8 and black pin 6 for ground. I connected them to ground and button +, button # + on my atoto and my SWC in this old thing work GREAT.
