🔌 Metra 70-8114: Steering Wheel Control Wire Harness with RCA for 2003-Up Toyota/Scion/Lexus Vehicles Review

As I was getting ready for this part of the installation, I was very nervous. This harness was so much easier to use than I initially thought. If I should have read the instructions first, I would have saved myself a few plugs. Highly recommend this (or similar) if you are connecting steering wheel controls (which I also highly recommend). I wish it added a microphone button for making/taking calls, but that's not much.

The Metra steering wheel controls are a bit confusing. I used this on a 2007 Tacoma with a Pioneer NEX head unit and everything just plugged in and worked without any setup. What looks like a headphone jack on this product is the main unit's control output. Used successfully with ASWC-1 on 2005 Lexus ES330 sedan without Mark Levinson audio system; with in-dash AM/FM/CD changer. I got the Harness Raid that came with the ASWC-1 and used 70-8114 instead, hooked it up as instructed and it worked. This made the job a lot easier as I didn't have to cut into the car's wiring harness. In my application, I connected a 3.5mm jack plug to a Pioneer AVH-1330NEX. My wife has a Lexus GX470 Non Nav / Non Mark Levinson sound system. Replaced factory head unit (Pioneer) with Binize 10.1 inch Android HU. This is a great product, but you will also need to purchase and install the Metra ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface for it to work.
