Made my installation a lot easier.

As I was getting ready for this part of the installation, I was very nervous. This harness was so much easier to use than I initially thought. If I should have read the instructions first, I would have saved myself a few plugs. Highly recommend this (or similar) if you are connecting steering wheel controls (which I also highly recommend). I wish it added a microphone button for making/taking calls, but that's not much.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Great for Android Head SWC access

Turns out they really were designed to connect directly to the Axxess SWC1 controller. I don't need it, but another plug is valuable. I bought one of these for an atoto setup I just made. I have a Rav4 09. This Toyota has a third connector that holds all the wires from the steering wheel and aux and junk. My key had pins 6,7,8 if it's the 3rd connector. This strap gave me easy access to them without interfering with the factory side of the fork. See Metra green-yellow for pin 7, green-black for

This makes installing the ASWC-1 a simple task

Was almost plug and play (except for the red and black wires which need to be connected to butt/solder connectors). I didn't have to connect RCA. For a 2003 4Runner with JBL Synthesis you just need to connect the red and black wires (twin harness coming from the head unit), connect to the car harness for the wired remote (20 pin connector) and connect 3, 5 pin connector. mm to the back of the main unit. The initialization was done automatically with my Pioneer FH-X720BT head unit. After all the

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Nothing

The Metra steering wheel controls are a bit confusing. I used this on a 2007 Tacoma with a Pioneer NEX head unit and everything just plugged in and worked without any setup. What looks like a headphone jack on this product is the main unit's control output. The black connector connects to the brain of the Metra steering wheel controller and the white connector connects to the Toyota factory wiring harness. Be careful when juggling multiple earbuds like setup hacks as they can get tangled. The…

Steering Wheel Control 2007 Toyota 4Runner

I installed an Android based head unit in my 2007 4Runner (non JBL stereo) that already had wires to control the steering wheel switches. I didn't want to cut or touch the car's wiring harness to use this feature, so I just got that for the connector. I cut all the other wires I don't need (except the two switch and ground wires), pinned the wires from the radio and connected it up like an OEM setup. Update: After driving there were problems with the controls on the steering wheel. . Stereo…

Worked fine for car AV installation

I added this custom Toyota wiring harness INSTEAD of the wiring that came with my Metra ASWC-1 steering wheel harness. That way I could just hook up the truck's existing wiring harness and stereo and solder on the three wires required. I installed a new head unit (stereo) as well as a reversing camera, micro bypass and Bluetooth mic and dual USB flush mount power plug. everything worked perfectly. I didn't see the flashing LED, which undoubtedly happened on the METRA steering wheel because I…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some issues

Used successfully with ASWC-1 on 2005 Lexus ES330 sedan without Mark Levinson audio system; with in-dash AM/FM/CD changer. I got the Harness Raid that came with the ASWC-1 and used 70-8114 instead, hooked it up as instructed and it worked. This made the job a lot easier as I didn't have to cut into the car's wiring harness. In my application, I connected a 3.5mm jack plug to a Pioneer AVH-1330NEX. I didn't need the RCA cable in 70-8114 so I removed them from the bundle. This Metra 70-8114…

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

My wife has a Lexus GX470 Non Nav / Non Mark Levinson sound system. Replaced factory head unit (Pioneer) with Binize 10.1 inch Android HU. I have a Metra TYTO-01 kit to connect the new HU to the factory wiring harness, but the steering wheel controls for the GX470 (and probably the Toyota 4-Runner) are on a separate 20-pin connector that plugs into the factory HU goes . Thanks to feedback from another user here I was able to hook up an Android (with SW1 and SW2 cables) to the factory harness…

Highly recommended - read this for important installation info

I installed this on a 2007 Toyota Solara with a Pioneer head unit. This is a great product, but you will also need to purchase and install the Metra ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface for it to work. I connected the wires from the white connector to the car stereo wires and in most cases it was just a color match but be sure to check your specific wiring diagrams. The white connector on this harness connects to the car's steering wheel connector (formerly the factory radio). Don't worry…
