The second collar we used broke so we bought another of the same brand and it broke too. So we decided to go with something more durable. For the price it holds up. I noticed that we don't need to go as high in the shock settings as in the others because it's quite strong. We test them on ourselves before we give them to our dogs. I have a Basenji that weighs 25 pounds and he is very good for his breed. I use a setting of 10 for this. The others we had were supposed to be at least 50 and it still didn't do anything compared to that. I don't have to shock him often. Only if he's very naughty or I think he's being too flirtatious with the kid. I usually use vibration and he understands me.
