Read the 1 star reviews before you buy this product they all say basically the same thing. This will be the second pull rod we sent back. If you attempt to adjust the stem while it is locked, the spring will snap and the end cap will disengage. The rod is completely broken at this point and will no longer function at all. If you oversize the bar and lock it somehow, you won't be able to unlock it to adjust without damaging it. If you can unlock it, it will be broken. As one reviewer put it best, "You have a chance to have this rod lock the length you want." If you make a mistake, be prepared to return it. Either the two we received were defective, or the thing is just complete junk. Both of ours arrived in perfect packaging and were not opened at all. It's amazing that this item has so many good reviews. I am very comfortable and to say that this pull bar really pissed me off would be an understatement. Much luck.
