For Christmas I asked my son what he wanted and he only asked me one thing: power tools. So here we are. My son will soon be an Eagle Scout and plans to build something for his project. At 14 it's time for a boy to get his own drill and this is a great starter kit. I got this set because it's more of a gift set than a complete exercise and I don't expect it to last forever. It comes with a bunch of attachments and ratchets, which are useful for their usefulness (I particularly like the crazy flexible attachment I can borrow from him). It even comes with gloves. As a gift for a DIY lover (which my son is definitely into) it's fine. But that's not what I would want from a homeowner.
