I was looking for an alumina toothpaste for remineralisation purposes after a visit to the dentist revealed that I had a lot of small cavities and I did some research on the internet to see if there was any other damage to avoid/to avoid some fillings . So I bought the one with coconut oil after brushing my mouthwash (planning to use it as a mouthwash). I was expecting this toothpaste to be very coarse and grainy and I was pleasantly surprised! It smells faintly of lemon, although I didn't notice any lemon or other flavors in the taste. I'm very sensitive to taste and texture (some foods make me throw up even if they're really tasty with the wrong texture) and I've had no problems at all! I love the smell and my teeth are really clean. My teeth are nice and smooth and not slippery like your traditional fluoridated toothpaste. I liken it to feeling clean like going to the dentist. I also use a Braun electric toothbrush so this might help with that. I especially like that there is NO sharp aftertaste like with any standard toothpaste (I also particularly hate almost all mints so I had to settle for a mild teeth whitening) or a sharp taste change so you can get your orange juice after brushing. It seems to "dissolve" as soon as you start brushing your teeth, but I don't think that doesn't mean it isn't cleaning my teeth effectively. When I grind my teeth, I notice a very fine grain of toothpaste, but that doesn't bother me. I lingered a bit on the lead warning, but I skimmed it and here's what their website says: Prop 65 lists over 900 substances, including lead, that companies are required to warn consumers about. Lead is a naturally occurring element in soil, so it can be found in trace amounts in everything that's grown or extracted from the soil, including fruits, vegetables, and of course, peanuts. Many natural products, such as bentonite clay, Proposition 65 allows exceptions for natural products, such as mixed nuts and Brussels sprouts, which would otherwise be required to have lead levels many times the legal limit. We think earthpaste falls within the definition of exempt products, but we're fairly cautious here and not very keen on defending a civil lawsuit brought by Prop 65 watchdogs hoping for a settlement or a share of the daily fines. So we've updated our packaging to avoid the kind of clutter that would be difficult for a company of our size to manage. occurs naturally in bentonite clay! As for the reviewer who said to do your research (and citing an article where the author also says you won't find lead in fruit because fruit doesn't come in contact with soil), doesn't know that lead is in Water is incredibly dangerous because it's unbound lead! It binds to your body where it causes problems, lingers and builds up. Yes, the clay is deep in the ground and therefore contains traces of other minerals including lead. Fortunately, although bentonite clay contains a small amount of lead, it is not bioavailable to the body...which means lead does not leach out of the clay into the body . It is already bound and held there by clay. Bentonite clay has a negative electrical charge and will seek out positively charged substances...like lead. Although it contains traces of lead, it holds the leash in place and prevents it from entering your or your child's body. warnings. I'm an engineer at a company that makes instruments that labs use to determine the amount of an element in a sample. This includes testing mine effluents, as well as electronics companies testing lead paint to meet regulatory standards. By the standards by which the test is conducted, water is more forgiving than anything earth paste has to combat, with such confidence that it's a negligible amount you could potentially ingest (which you'll pass anyway). Lead is everywhere and getting it out of this toothpaste is a product you don't have to worry about.[.][.]
