Just got back from a winter trip to Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State. It came in handy as a "buff" to protect my face from the biting wind while being comfortably breathable. I've used it at high altitude glacier climbing to protect my neck and face from sunburn - it worked well. The material's density and its resistance to any kind of burning or melting made it handy for grabbing hot pots while melting snow for water. No bears attacked me, so I didn't have a chance to check their "safety". My only wish is for the company to offer it in complementary colors other than jet black, as darker colors tend to attract UV rays, which I prefer to avoid at high altitude. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
