Review on Cordiant Snow Cross 195/65 R15 91T winter by Dimitar Manolov ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

I compare with a number of spikes GOODYEAR, Gislaved NordFrost and Cordiant Polar 2 (not a spike). All the above-mentioned European rubbers are good in their own way and I can’t say anything bad, except for their cost. Gislaved deserves special honors. But after purchasing the Snow Cross tire (for meager money), not a single member of our family doubted for a second that we had made the right choice. Absolutely nothing lost to their predecessors. Well, maybe in handling at high speed. Since we don’t have pilots, and we don’t have roads either, this didn’t become a problem. How did you come to Cordiant? Last year we rode on a non-studded Polar 2, the tires performed well. Without spikes, she kept turns on any surface, snow, porridge, puddles, packed snow, everything except smooth ice. Even the icy asphalt kept as best she could. Took off in loose snow and in Toko porridge with slippage. For a rear-wheel drive boomer, it's cool, BUT the flow increases. The tire also could not boast of brakes. I was helpless on smooth ice! I attributed this shortcoming to the lack of spikes (which I regretted a thousand times). But at the same time, Polar 2 impressed with impeccable directional stability (and this is without spikes). At a speed of 110-120, I allowed myself to overtake on an uncleaned road to get out of the rut, cross the dividing snowdrift of porridge and return to the rut. I want to note that this maneuver did not require any strain or driving talent from me. Behind him, a comrade in a front-wheel drive car in a studded coat has seen the light. His attempt to repeat the maneuver cost him a lot of nerves. I will not engage in anti-advertising, but believe me, he had very cheap tires from a well-publicized brand. And so the idea was born to test the flagship of the Snow Cross winter tire line. The first season is a solid 5, we are watching!

Pros
  • throughput and braking performance
Cons
  • running-in features that cannot be neglected (400-600 km. )
