Review on A1 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Aloe by Esera Warren

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If you want to use the AUX port to play an instrument, don't buy it!

I deduct 4 stars for terrible software/algorithm. I give 1 star for good sound, call function, workmanship and design. I bought this to play my musical keyboard through the AUX port. PROBLEM - Apparently if I don't play a note for 15 seconds it goes into MUTE mode or something. a sort of auto-off mode (although it stays on). It's only after I've played music (on my instrument) for a few seconds (when it sees there's some kind of signal) that it wakes up to play it. It's an unnecessary function/algorithm if it's by design. And that's the most annoying thing about this great-sounding speaker. Surprisingly, it doesn't have the same capability for Bluetooth connectivity when it comes to saving battery power. Update: November 17th - I have shown this bug to the b&o team and they have accepted the limitation and are investigating it. Update: August 2018 - The B&O team has stated that this limitation remains unchanged. I think that's the most frustrating part, that the company doesn't give you an automatic sleep option. In fact I think this is a BAD design choice and arrogance as Apple forces them to block features for their customers to show their product is good on paper.

Pros

Cons
  • Periodicity
