I see a lot of outrage here about all the plastic but the sponges I got weren't plastic at all! Perhaps the manufacturer heard everyone. Anyway, mine came in a resealable brown wax paper bag, all together with no individual packaging. That's it. As for the sponges themselves, they last just as long as the plastic sponges I've used, maybe even longer because they don't start deteriorating immediately when I use bleach cleaner. I'm still on my first and it's been almost two months. (Don't worry - I use a lot of bleach these days *um-pandemic-um* :D so they don't start smelling bad or something!) I also love the color they come in - nice relaxing greens and browns!
