I have a recessed outlet and wanted to hook up a pair of Sonos Play:1s for surround speakers, but didn't want to occupy both outputs for both speakers and it had to be a hodgepodge of electrical hookups to use an outlet and have long enough reach for the extension cords to reach both speakers, given that the outlet is in the center of the sofa and the two speakers are on opposite ends Sofa, about 3 feet from the outlet. This reversible extension was a one stop solution for me. I would take a picture but it's all under the sofa so you can't see it. Just note that I use an outlet to power two devices about 3 feet from the outlet in opposite directions with no issues. I should also note that I have enough slack should you need a longer range than 3ft.
