Review on πŸ”Œ Metra Axxess AX-CAM6V 12V to 6V Camera Voltage Reducer by Hals Martin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The output voltage is 11V, not 6V.

So after hours of trying to figure out why my backup camera wasn't working in my 2016 Subaru WRX with my new Pioneer 4200nex, my son finally had the brilliant idea to check the connections with a multimeter. I mean, there's no way we did anything wrong and our problems were actually a faulty part of the machine. It turns out yes. The low voltage was a fantastic (and completely useless) 11.6 volts. Congratulation. You managed to reduce the voltage by about 1V. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, so pissed we spent so much time thinking we did something wrong. Sigh. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised as apparently ALL QA/QC programs are pretty lackluster these days. Anyway if you bought this and after everything is connected when reversing HU will switch to camera view but won't show the image, save your time, grab a multimeter and make sure this POS is really working correctly. .

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
