Works great on my 2016 Subaru

Works great on my 2016 Subaru. I installed a Kenwood DVD receiver and this voltage drop works perfectly with the factory rear view camera.

Pros
  • Strong and durable
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Compatible with Android Head Unit - 2015+ Subaru WRX/STi

Purchased to keep my factory backup camera functionality on my 2017 Subaru WRX aftermarket Android Head Unit and it works great. The kit even includes instructions on which wires to solder.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Great solution at a good price

Exactly what I was looking for. After some research I decided to buy this product to make my rear view camera work. Installed on my car was easy and it saved $$$$ on a new camera and the need to run wires from the back to the dash.

Pros
  • Converts 12 volt DC to 6 volt DC
Cons
  • So far so good

Worked great. on power converters

I needed to replace the factory head unit in my 2016 Subaru Impreza which had a factory backup camera. I read online that the factory camera uses a lower voltage than the main unit I was trying to install. This item is designed to step down the 12V output of the aftermarket head unit to the appropriate voltage so as not to overload or damage the factory camera. This item is also used at some local plumbing shops to achieve the same result. It worked great with my setup and installation was easy

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Not bad

The output voltage is 11V, not 6V.

So after hours of trying to figure out why my backup camera wasn't working in my 2016 Subaru WRX with my new Pioneer 4200nex, my son finally had the brilliant idea to check the connections with a multimeter. I mean, there's no way we did anything wrong and our problems were actually a faulty part of the machine. It turns out yes. The low voltage was a fantastic (and completely useless) 11.6 volts. Congratulation. You managed to reduce the voltage by about 1V. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, so pissed we…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
