Review on Petcube Interactive Monitoring App Enabled Security by Joel Young

This is my first pet camera, nothing to compare it to. I've had it for about a week, so I can't comment on how well it's holding up. But in the little time I had, I enjoyed it immensely. I work long hours and often miss my cat. With that, I can either open a live view and see her, talk to her (and listen for a possible purr) or PetCube Care (it's an optional subscription, but most of those devices seem to do it). You can set it to record a video whenever it detects a moving cat or when it hears a fairly loud noise that it mistakes for a pet. It displays all of these short videos as small animations so you can quickly see what your pet is doing without having to click or watch the actual video. Even if you are watching live, you can just click "Facebook Live" and your pet will become adorable on your Facebook immediately. Power is supplied via a USB-to-USB-C cable, which is great because if the fairly long cable that comes with it doesn't work for you, you can just buy it to find a cable that this type is better suited for your environment. Very fun to check every few hours. Another feature I haven't tried yet but really like the idea is that you can customize the sharing settings and let the public, selected friends or selected families view the camera whenever they want (or you can set different times for define different people). can access the camera, everything here is very configurable via the options view), and you can even let them control the laser if they want. Speaking of lasers, I really think this is a point where there is room for improvement. Even though I've gone through the calibration multiple times, it still serves a terrible purpose. And sometimes it lags a lot. It is also annoying that one LED is always on. I'd like to be able to turn it off when it's just idle, not recording, streaming, or doing anything other than sitting there. Or at least a possibility. I would also find it incredible if you could rotate the camera. This is a fixed wide angle and sometimes it would be nice to be able to pan to see more. I will say that while it is easy to set up and use, I ran into a problem when I first got it. The video was choppy and truncated and when I clicked on it to see the details I was told it was streaming in low quality due to poor internet connection even though the camera is near the router and I have other things to do have. nearby, reaching excellent speed. I noticed the firmware on the camera was lower than their website and updated it manually which fixed the issue.
