that's chemistry magic at it's finest. When I bought this I thought it was just a more heat resistant electrical tape. not at all. In fact, it turns into a durable rubber hose within minutes. After a few hours, the edges of the tape actually fuse from the wrapper into a smooth insulating sleeve. I am very satisfied with the result. It's a little tricky to expand and collapse so it's best to do it in a controlled space, you should try to avoid packing in tight spaces if you can. Most of the time, if you mess up, just slice/peel and re-wrap. This will be a standard problem for all my future auto/moto electrical work.
