This is an amazing monitor, it took about 20 minutes to get everything working properly. I had to tell my laptop that I was sending video to the LCD TV. Once this happened, I was able to set the screen resolution to the highest setting for the monitor. My laptop has an HDMI output and is connected like this, I have a very good set of speakers (Logitech) connected and the remote controls the volume and turns the device on/off. FYI if the image doesn't fill the screen then your screen resolution isn't set high enough, your graphics card may need the latest driver to set it higher, I downloaded the latest driver from Intel. In Windows 7 you should have an option for hidden icons in the taskbar next to the clock, one of these should be for your graphics card, this is where you tell it to send a signal to the LCD TV once you do that, the monitor on the laptop should turn off. After doing this, you still need to change the display setting to the highest available.
