Review on πŸ”‹ Reliable Auto Meter BVA-300: Advanced Hand-Held Battery and Electrical System Micro-Processor Tester by Kevin Folsom

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable and accurate battery/charging system load tester, quick and easy to use!

This is a professional battery/charger load tester that works with 6V and 12V lead-acid and AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries. With a 40 amp load it performs a full electrical system test in less than 82 seconds using patented digital pulse load technology which is one of the best and most accurate systems on the market. The 4-line, 64-character LCD screen displays the test results, which are also stored in memory in 50 tests. You can also print out this information using an optional infrared printer or a PC cable. As far as I know Apple computers are NOT supported, which is a shame in the modern world, but some companies are ignoring the growing number of Mac users. The stress test ranges from 100 to 1600 amperes during a cold start. Unfortunately the LCD panel isn't backlit, it can be difficult to see depending on the lighting conditions around you, so I'm disappointed that Auto Meter didn't spend another $1 to add two LEDs to backlight the LCD. A detachable plastic case helps protect this tester from minor bumps, but I recommend getting a hard, waterproof patch to store and transport this tester because if you've invested in this tester, you're giving $10 or $12 dollars for an item. I bought Revain's Plano 1312 Dry Storage Emergency Marine Box for $10.99, the Auto Meter BVA-300 is perfect for protecting it from damage and easy to find on my shelf, Safety Orange Case. For more charging system testing options, check out the Auto Meter BVA-350, the next model and even better.
