Audio not working with HDMI on Late 2018 Mac Mini

Image quality is good overall, although ghosting occurs when scrolling through webpages. I hooked this up to a late 2018 MacMini. I was hoping that at least system sounds would be transmitted through the HDMI cable, but it just doesn't work (tried 3 different cables, followed Apple support instructions, etc.) and that's why it stinks. I know the speakers aren't top notch, but that was one of the reasons I bought this monitor. I don't need/want premium audio. The graphics in my box are integrated with Intel UHD 630. I wasn't expecting that much ghosting (don't know if it's inherent or just the monitor). Aesthetically this is a good monitor; Cable management is excellent; Connections are well placed. Navigating the on-screen menu is fairly easy. Overall I like the monitor and plan on probably keeping it, although stars will drop due to the speakers and ghosting (though not sure if that's just the quality of the onboard UHD graphics).
