Review on Smart watches SUUNTO 5, white by Yani Bambang ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

Experience of use - 6 months, before that I had no sports watch, there is nothing to compare with. Good watch, I like almost everything: made with high quality, strong, light and comfortable on the hand. Good display information. Cons for me: not very pretty time dials and not a very large selection of them, the display turned out to be smaller than I expected (but it's still convenient to read all the information). The battery lasts an average of 6 days, I have workouts from Monday to Saturday inclusive, an average of 1 hour with a chest heart rate monitor, notifications and round-the-clock heart rate tracking are also included. Without these functions, I think, plus a couple of days to autonomy. Quite a good application on the phone, with its own chips: heat maps, other people's routes - it's convenient and interesting to watch. But for some reason it is impossible to change your data (weight, age) in the application. Not convenient. The watch does not have an auto activity detection function - but it is not really needed (only if the walking mode was determined during a walk). There is not enough cyclicity in the menu - it's inconvenient, you have to scroll down if necessary. A cool ability to customize the displays in training modes, with the display of many parameters. GPS at maximum power consumption (accuracy) works well, the route builds on sidewalks) and is responsive. In the economy mode (in my opinion, 60 sec signal interval) in the city, I didn’t like to use it when running: it cuts corners, a curved route, “steals” the distance traveled, it doesn’t calculate pace well. I think such a regimen can be used with uniform running at the same pace in a straight line (field, highway). The buttons are comfortable, you immediately get used to their functionality and intuitively use them during activities. I will add that the GPS altimeter after a trail start in the mountains (watched in the Suunto app) showed less climb than another app (one of the most common), although it syncs with Suunto. It is not clear who is right. Overall great watch! I liked it, I recommend it.

Cons
  • after 5 months, Bluetooth began to blunt (perhaps on the phone, and not on the clock). Sometimes you have to unpair and reconnect because the watch is out of sync with the app. Sometimes it loses connection with the chest heart rate monitor or shows an overestimated pulse (190-200 beats), but this happens when jogging in frost - maybe because of the cold .
