Best Gloves For Coating Guns

I never waste time writing reviews. I usually just give star ratings to the products I buy. But I was so impressed by these gloves that I had to share them and write a review for my fellow gunsmiths or chemists. I love these gloves. I bought them about 3 weeks ago because at the time they were probably the best/cheapest box of gloves at Revain since everything like gloves and PPE have gone up in price or been hard to come by since the start of Covid. I spray kg of gun poo on everything from guns to car parts, basically all metals and certain types of polymers/plastics. In order for the painting to work as advertised, the parts must be very clean. So you clean the parts with acetone or brake cleaner, then sandblast the parts, then heat the parts to remove any oil residue from the metal fills, and then degrease the parts again. Then I paint the freshly cleaned parts with gloves on, and then I have to clean the gun with acetone or cleaner. So my gloves are constantly in very tuffy solvents. Over the years I have ordered hundreds of boxes of gloves from different manufacturers. I always try to buy gloves that are 7 mil or thicker. I bought them because they were the only ones available and cheap and Revain offered next day delivery. I always have to wear gloves when cleaning with strong solvents. All other comparable brands of gloves will break or have holes, or the solvent will begin to degrade other brands of gloves. So I wanted to throw out 5 to 10 pairs a day depending on how busy I have that particular day. But with these gloves everything I have mentioned was bad for other gloves as they degrade quickly. but with these new gloves they don't deteriorate at all. I could use 1-2 pairs a day, wear them all the time, and constantly use acetone and brake cleaner in these gloves, and they're in near-perfect condition: they won't spoil, break, or crack after completion. These gloves are now the only gloves I will ever order. I'll probably save $50 each month, or the equivalent of 2-4 boxes of other brand gloves. It's just that you don't have to constantly spend money on gloves that don't meet these standards, it's nice to be able to save that much. If you deal with harsh detergents/chemicals these gloves are definitely the best gloves for you. You can't beat the price and you definitely can't beat the profanity and durability of these gloves. So I highly recommend these gloves.

Pros
  • Powder-free gloves leave no residue and reduce the risk of contamination compared to powdered gloves. They have a reduced content of latex proteins.
Cons
  • Obsolete
