Review on 🦘 Enhanced Kangaroo Home Security Motion Sensor (1 Pack) by Josh Koa

Installation was SUPER easy. Sensors work well, not perfect. Customer service was great. However, the siren system and control panel need improvement. The siren field is the worst part of this system. First, it's not very noisy. When the TV is on upstairs, you hardly hear the siren downstairs. When it's off and you're upstairs, it's still quieter than a vacuum. If you stand next to the siren, again not very loud. It should be loud enough that you can't be near it, and you should be able to hear it upstairs with no problem. When the system senses something, it takes 2-3 minutes for the siren to sound. The problem is that it asks you to disable the system, which only leads the thief straight there. Then all you have to do is turn it off and it's completely disabled. Yes, it still sends you alerts on your phone, but importantly, by the time you do something about it, the thief is already gone WITHOUT drawing ANY ATTENTION to your house. The purpose of an alarm should be to IMMEDIATELY deter a thief from entering your home. That doesn't happen with this system. A simple solution to this would be to have a battery in the base strong enough to turn on the siren within 5 minutes of turning it off. Also, like most Wi-Fi based systems, this system is of no use to you if you have a power outage or your Wi-Fi is down. Again, notifications will still be sent to your phone, but nothing in your home to deter thieves. The batteries in the sensors are rather weak. They only lasted a few months before needing to be replaced. Hopefully the new batteries will last longer. The discount they claim to help you does NOT fully offset the cost of the monitoring service; especially since the cost of the monitoring service CONTINUES TO GROW. I can't always make calls to the surveillance service. So if you can't/don't want to answer, their service will send the police. I've had several false alarms and that would result in the police coming unnecessarily. After some of them the police/city will charge you. So, as for my title, if you have this system WITH a SEPARATE battery powered camera system then I think you would be very well placed. When the alarm goes off, you can simply check the cameras to see if you really need to call the police. The best reason for a separate camera system is so that if thieves disable the kangaroo system, you still have a rear camera. Most thieves are under the impression that there will only be one system, and once they defeat it, they'll walk in with the wrong feeling that they're ready. ****UPDATE**** Within 5 days of my review the entire system went down. The siren remote control itself changes modes. Two other input and motion sensors have stopped working and will not reset. I emailed customer service and they are clearly too lazy to look into my account to see what I bought and what's going wrong. You can't even read the whole letter! Complete garbage. I wish I could get my money back but of course after closing the return window the system failed.
