Good features and value for money

The hardware you get here is worth the money, but you'll have to be a little creative to find out. First of all, the only instructions are those found here on the Revain product page - more detailed instructions will not be sent with the product. Additionally, the included hole punches won't pierce anything very thick. Also, to use them, the hole needs to be very close to the edge of what you are working on, so you're probably still going to use something else for a lot of holes, so you can just use this for all of them. The second method of drilling holes included in the kit is with a hole punch that you drive in with a hammer. This is probably quite suitable for leather or vinyl. I found that with fabric the opening is quite large and messy. In order for the rivet to hold the parts together well, the hole needs to be as small as possible so the rivet covers more material. I've found that the best way to make a hole in fabric is with a pickaxe tool with a sharp point that you can just poke through the fabric. This way you also cut fewer threads, which helps maintain the overall integrity of the fabric. You can also use a nail or even a compass (like you draw a circle) to pierce the fabric with a pointed end. and if you make them crooked (easy to make if you're not precise with a hammer) they won't pull out easily without damaging the material you're inserting them into. advises. Sometimes I find that the little round "anvil" you put under the rivet when driving it in isn't really needed and can easily slip and make the rivet crooked. You can probably just do without it as long as you're on the under-table where surface markings aren't a problem. If you are doing this on a kitchen or dining table, protect the table with a cloth or similar and place a piece of wood under the top, which you hit with the hammer. You have a product that can be adapted to many different uses, so there's a bit of improvisation you'll have to do to figure out how to use these rivets with the specific material you're working with. This is a good sentence. I only gave it four stars instead of five because of the lack of detailed instructions and the limited performance of the hole punch that came with it. In addition, it is very versatile and useful. If you're the type of hobbyist thinking about using this, chances are you're used to coloring a little outside the lines so you have the skills you need to use this in your project.
